Saturday January 4, 2020

  • 9:30 am to 10:00 am – Check In and Continental Breakfast
  • 10:00 am to 1:00 pm – Morning Ensemble work with director, part 1
  • 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Getting to Know You Potluck
  • 1:00 pm to 4:00pm – Afternoon Ensemble work with director, part 1
  • 2:00 pm to 4:00pm – “We Can Jam” – This monthly jam is for women/trans/queer/nonbinary improvisers only. It’s free of charge and open to all levels of experience — whether this is your first time doing improv or you are teaching a class.
  • 4:00pm to 7:00pm – Workshops: “Mindfulness and Self-Compassion for the Improviser” with Ava Bird or “Follow Your Fun & Know Your Rights: Where Joy & Self-advocacy Meet!” with C Michael Menge, $20
  • 8:00 pm to 9:30 pm – See Off Book with a woman and nonbinary cast at HUGE Theater (you’ll receive a coupon code for comp ticket with your registration)

Sunday January 5, 2020

Ensemble Directors


Alexis Camille 
is an improv actor, director, storyteller, and educator living in Minneapolis, MN. After serving in the U.S. Marines, she began studying theater and improv in Oakland, CA. Alexis works with HUGE Improv BD3B9863-B032-4737-BFBF-AB092A952763 Theater, The Theater of Public Policy, and is a cast member of internationally known, Blackout Improv. She is impassioned with advocating and serving the voices of underrepresented peoples, and is committed to projecting diversity and representation throughout her work. Alexis Camille especially appreciates contributing to efforts in creating a culture of self-expression, inclusivity, open dialogue, laughter, and healing via the arts.


Joy Dolo
is an Actor, Improviser and all around good samaritan. Her theater career in Minnesota spans 10 years at all of the most beloved places. She is the co-founder of Blackout Improv and sometimes she dabbles in Theater of Public Policy Improv. She is the Host of American Public Media’s “Forever Ago” Podcast as well as a special guest on joygreensmileSmash Boom Best podcast season 2. She was graced with an Ivey Award 2014, 2018 MN Theater recognition for Best Actor, City Pages Artist of the year 2018, and her husband thinks she is pretty great too. No award yet, but she assumes he’s working on it. When she is not working, she enjoys walking, sitting in the hot tub, and playing with her daughter dog, DD.

Taj Ruler is an actor, improviser, voice over artist and teacher in the Twin Cities.  When she is not onstage, she is most likely hanging out with her friends/partner Ben, watching an epic amount tv, eating lots of ice cream, or most likely doing all of the above at the same time.
